Sri Lanka is home to some of the world’s most fascinating religious and cultural attractions, revealing the essence of the island’s enthralling history and rich cultural tradition.

Historical sites such as Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Dambulla, once home to ancient kingdoms, still retain many relics and artefacts of the lore. The UNESCO World Heritage sites like the rock fortress of Sigiriya and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Kandy, are must-see places. A multi-religious country, Sri Lanka has many religious festivals that take place year around, such as Vesak for Buddhists, Nallur Festival for Hindus and Madhu Festival for Catholics.

This 7-day itinerary will help you to reach the destination like this.

Itinerary

Day 1Colombo to Kandy.

We will pick up you at Colombo airport (CMB) or Hotel as you request and drive to your first destination Kandy via Pinnawala and Peradeniya. The journey will take around 3 ½ hours without considering the site spending time.

On your way we will visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage where established to give a home to abandoned, injured or abused elephants as well as nourish and care.

Evening will visit to Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the sacred tooth relic), Kandy lake, world Buddhist museum and Ceylon tea museum. We will stay at Kandy for the night.

Day 2Kandy to Sigiriya.

After the breakfast will visit to Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya. Botanic Gardens are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is near by the longest river in Sri Lanka (Mahaweli River). The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.

On the way you may visit Herbal Mediation center for relax yourself and to see Natural spice Plantation. Also, in the evening time you can climb Sigiriya rock and stay relax at Sigiriya Depending on the time. The rock nearly 200 meters high and you may need to spend few hours to climb.

The journey will take around 3 hours without considering the site spending time.

Day 3Dambulla.

After breakfast we will take you to the Ancient Dambulla Cave Temple. Then we will visit to Hiriwadunna village for the village experience and Lunch.

We will stay at Dambulla for the night and ready for the next day.

Day 4 Dambulla to Trincomalee.

We will start early and visit to Minneriya National Park for safari experience. Minneriya National Park, best known for seasonal elephants and large flocks of little cormorants. Then after lunch we will take yous to your destination Trincomalee.

The journey will take around 2 ½ hours without considering the site spending time.

Day 5Tincomalee.

In the morning we will visit to a spectacular promontory overlooking one of the world’s largest natural harbors and there is an ancient temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is at the head of Konesar Malai (Swami Rock) on the dramatic Gokarna Bay, a seasonal home to blue whales.

Temple is on the northeastern coast of Sri Lanka, at the very end of Konesar Road. on your way you can visit Fort Fedrick (formerly a British colonial fort).

Be prepared respect the religious customs and propriety, including appropriate dress before visit to Kovil.

Day 6Trinco to Nilaveli.

After breakfast we will visit nilaveli beach one of the finest beaches in Sri Lanka, the pearly sands, the breath-taking coastline this is a tangible proof of serenity in our island. It is so unique that the feeling you experience when you see it, is unique itself. One can really connect with nature at this beach at an intense level.

Nilaveli beach is the place where you can take a break from the hectic lives and rejuvenate.

Day 7Nilaveli to Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura is the capital city of North Central Province. Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sinhala civilization.

You can see Anuradhapura contains a rich collection of archaeological and architectural wonders: enormous brick stupas (dagobas), ancient pools and crumbling temples.

Also, frequent ceremonies give Anuradhapura a vibrancy.

Day 8Back to Negombo

End of the journey. we will drop you safely for Night flight or hotel you requested.

The journey (Nilaveli to Negombo) will take around 6 ½ hours without considering the site spending time.
